It's about your business, your mission, your message and your organization's day-to-day marketing communication efforts. That's where I can help, but how do you know I'm the right person for your project?
I have worked both corporate and agency side communications. I understand how in-house communicators think and feel about their company, and I have the agency background and know-how to creatively and strategically tackle communication projects.
I'm a natural communicator and lover of the written and spoken word (so much that I spent too much time in detention in middle school for talking in class). I've been writing in one form or another all my life. In high school, I competed on the speech and debate team, won fourth in the State of Ohio and was named most valuable speaker of our state championship team.
At Kent State University, I earned a degree in public relations and minored in business administration. While practicing public relations at Time Warner Cable's Northeast Ohio Division and then at Liggett-Stashower Public Relations in Cleveland, I learned to transform raw ideas into precise messages. Within these roles, I took difficult, confusing information and worked it into understandable language. I continue to enjoy this process while helping colleagues, friends and clients reach their communication goals.
Over the past 21 years, I have been actively raising my children while developing this business. I read constantly (with a running-tab library fine) and truly enjoy learning, especially about: history, gardening, the local food movement, personal finance, health and wellness, human behavior, child development and foreign languages. My mom says I think too much.
During down time, you'll find me reading, swimming, baking, running, volunteering, learning foreign languages, camping, learning new things and organizing anything in an Excel spreadsheet...especially new chore charts for my kids!
I look forward to learning about your business -- and eventually writing about it!
My family is a huge part of who I am. I created (and I currently manage) this business while actively raising five children. Eventually I will write about it , but not quite yet...
